Enough to be Human

I’ve had a shit week

AND

That’s okay

BECAUSE

I’m trying something new

And the new will sometimes get messy

I’m stepping out into the unknown 

And the unknown can often be scary

I’m daring something great so I can look back with pride

And the path to great pride is steep

I’m helping people go beyond their imagined limits

So it’s only right that I sometimes hit mine

Every story has dark as well as light

That’s what makes it worth the telling

The feeling I need to be perfect or approved

Is the only thing that says there’s a problem

On the days I accidentally tread on the truth

I can look down at the mess and laugh

And because 

I am, as it turns out, only human

And that’s got to be good enough for me too
